These treatments are tough but I'll be okay. I had a little setback a few days ago and had to be admitted to the hospital again but they let me out the next day.
Everyone has platelets in their blood. They help you clot and stop bleeding if you get cut.
The treatments made my blood platelets go very, very low so when the radiation irritated my brain too much, it started bleeding. The bleeding in my brain caused me to have some twitching in my face and tongue, kind of like small seizures. So...back to the hospital I went.
They gave me some platelets and some medication to stop the twitching and...back home I went.
Now, I'm really, really, really on house arrest. They won't even let me chase the dog!
Oh no!!!!! I'm sorry you had to go back to the hospital. Was the food still okay? I'm really glad that you only had to spend a little time there and now you're home taking it easy. You are a very strong girl Lucia. You're strength, positive thinking, and wonderful sense of humor makes you an excellent role model for kids and adults!!! I can't wait to see you soon.
Love,
Ms. Lattanzio
