Our Sweet, Sweet Angel

After a long, courageous fight our LuciaGirl has gotten her wings and is at peace. Her faith never waivered. 

 

Quote: " As soon as I'm one of God's angels, I'll be completely healed."

   

Hope, courage, faith, determination are all words that describe Lucia.

Lucia means light and she will be the light that guides us to find a cure.

We will be starting The LuciaGirl Pediatric Oncology Foundation.

We will miss Lucia more than words can say. I don't know why God took her from us at such a young age, but I do know that we are all much better people for having known her, and for bringing her into our lives. The faith, courage and sense of humor she showed throughout her difficult time has been a real life lesson for me, and pushes me to live the life God gave me and never want for more.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. She was a beautiful little girl and I cannot fathom the pain you must be feeling. Just as it was and is because of a very good friend of mine who died last May, I feel reminded of how lucky I am. Gratitude is the greatest gift ever in existence, the best one possible, and your daughter has given me, a stranger to her, that gift- so I can only imagine what she has done for those who were lucky enough to experience her light.
